About the Program

 Goals of the program include:

• Assisting students in developing an identity and a relationship with the institution, peers, staff, and community;
• Providing information concerning academic policies, procedures and programs to enable students to make reasoned and well-informed choices;
• Providing qualified advising and mentoring;
• Promoting an awareness of non-classroom opportunities;
• Creating an atmosphere that promotes positive attitudes and an environment for learning
• Improving the retention rate of new students;
• Assisting students to identify costs of attending the institution, in terms of both dollars and personal commitment;
• Providing appropriate information on personal safety and security.
